Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Wellcome to October! This month is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sure, it is a perfect time to speak with your daughters, especially if it has touched someone in your family, about this serious subject. Open up your lines of communication. Part of dealing with a serious illness is better understanding it.
Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) reminds women that early detection of breast cancer via regularly scheduled exams offers the best chance for survival. The American Cancer Society estimates that 1,820 new breast cancer cases will be diagnosed in Mississippi in 2009, and 430 women will die from the disease.
Sony’s pink products supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Almost everybody knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and Sony is showing its support by donating $110,000 in conjunction with sales made in October from the Reader Pocket Edition bundle in rose, and the pink VAIO W Series Mini Notebook bundle.
The money will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which uses more than 85 cents of each dollar directly towards breast cancer research, and awareness programs.
The Sony Pocket Reader is available now for pre-order, and will be available around October 7 for $199.99. The VAIO VPC-W111XX/PC is available now for $499.99.

It’s going to be a busy month for Breast Cancer Awareness, that’s for sure! 3-Day Walks this month are in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. Many businesses have taken strides to increase Breast Cancer Awareness in the work place by giving employees custom Pink Ribbon pins like the ones found at http://www.PinkWings.com. Hope to see you out there! Keep Fighting for the Cure!
