Emmanuel Lewis, an American actor is a popular figure in Hollywood. The Changeling Boy is a very popular actor in the Joseph Papp New York Shakespeare Festival Production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Japan as well as America. By his fans, the 3′ 6″ tall is nicknamed as “The Tallest 40 Inches in Hollywood”.
Emmanuel Lewis was born March 9th, 1971 in Brooklyn, New York as the youngest son of Margaret Lewis. His father was a computer professional. The youngest of the four siblings attended regular public schools in Brooklyn. He entered in the field of showbiz when one of his friends who were walking with him in a garden asked whether he wants to be in showbiz. He initiated his notable acting career in TV commercials for such products as cars, fruit juice, glue, soup, stereos, toys, pudding, coffee, pizza, and, of course, Burger King.
As far as his acting career is concerned, he was first seen as an actor in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream with role of The Changeling Boy in a Shakespearean festival in New York. He took part in talk shows as well e.g. “The Tonight Show” and “Donahue Show”. But it is “Webster” which brought fame for him. He is best known for having played the title character in the 1980s’ television sitcom Webster. The show depicts the life of a tiny African-American boy being raised in a white family. The show also secured him the nickname, Webster.
His endeavors include his visits to Japan where he gave appearances in different shows and secured top position on the charts. He produced a TV film for Japanese TV. He was a close friend of Michael Jackson. Jackson always wanted him to be with him in different award ceremonies. They had good professional as well as intimate relations with each other. He has the ambition to continue acting and directing with a TV series.
The popular acting career secured many nominations for Emmanuel Lewis too. He was nominated for four Young Artist Awards. However his physical size combined with his age made his Hollywood clout all that more incongruous. Emmanuel Lewis founded his own musical label called Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment. He is said to have a black belt in karate and is a martial arts expert. He also is a student of Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo.
