Yeah.. the true winners at the Grammy Awards 2010 were the audience… Why? Just because all the performances reminded us why we watch this annual celebration of the best in music. The 2010 Grammy Awards proved memorable for several stars including Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Kings of Leon.
At the 2010 Grammy Awards, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Travis Barker performed Weezy’s new single “Drop the World”. Drake then joined them onstage for “Forever”. Unless Jay-Z also made an appearance, it was pretty hard to make it more of a superstar performance than it already was!
SheKnows Entertainment culled over the entire evening and present to our readers the top six performances of the over-a-dozen that illuminated the nation’s TV screens January 31. The stars of the music industry are all represented from Lady Gaga and her duet with Elton John, Beyonce’s militaristic jam to Bon Jovi performance of an audience request and even Michael Jackson!
Sure, all the performance was HOT. Here are our countdown of the top 6 Grammy Awards Performances:
1. Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Usher and Smokey Robinson with Michael Jackson. The Grammy Awards had to pull out all the stops to tribute Michael Jackson. But, it was the King of Pop who delivered with an incredible song that truly captured the heartlight of the entire Grammy evening.
2. Beyonce. Beyonce was Fierce, to say the least. Her Grammy Awards take on Halo illustrated why Beyonce continues to be one of the greatest voices of her generation. Breaking into a little Alanis Morrisette’s You Outta Know in the midst of her If I Were A Boy performance further showed why Beyonce’s musical menagerie is one audiences continually seek to be intertwined.
3. Michael jackson’s children. Not necessarily a musical performance. But, there was a sonic semblance to Micahel Jackson’s children taking the stage and putting a face on the loss of the King of Pop. Have you ever seen children facing such a daunting task handle it with such grace?
4. Bon Jovi with Sugarland’s jennifer nettles. Bon Jovi was able to perform a three-song medley including both current and old hits. The final track, was chosen by the audience at home watching the 2010 Grammy Awards. Joined by Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles, Bon Jovi has never sounded or seemed more relevant.
5. Pink. Pink took her passion for high-flying excercise and turned in one of the Grammy Awards top performances.
6. Lady Gaga. Would audiences expect anything less than what we saw at the Grammy Awards performance from Lady Gaga. Well, yes actually. How about Sir Elton John?
