A new show drama from MTV “My Life As Liz” is to follow up “The Buried Life” will air at 10:30pm on Monday nights. This show explores high school life through the eyes of Liz Lee, a precocious, sometimes sarcastic, always witty teenage girl trapped in a conservative Texas town. This is reminding me of a 2010 reality version of “My So-Called Life” the short-lived/critically acclaimed show that catapulted Claire Danes to stardom and had a significant impact on my own childhood.

Based on her real-life experiences, “My Life As Liz” follows Liz Lee, a quick-witted 17-year-old teen with likable angst. Making the decision to leave the “in” crowd and teen uniformity behind during her freshman year, the series explores Liz’s attempts to make senior year her best one yet as she carves out a place of her own amongst her “normal” peers.
