NFL player Chris Henry dies at 26

NFL player Chris Henry had been involved in a domestic dispute, and fallen from the bed of a truck after a fight with his fiancee. Chris Henry has died as a result of the injuries. The athlete played for the Cincinnati Bengals, and was reported to have “grave injuries.”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police tell TMZ Henry died at 6:36 AM EST this morning. He was 26. Henry was rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away this morning. Authorities tell us they’re still investigating the situation.

The sports franchise president Mike Brown released a statement Wednesday saying that they were “stunned to have learned this news,” the statement was made before Henry’s death.

Charlotte police have been unclear as to the nature of the accident. While Henry was in a car with his fiancee, Henry “came out of the back of the vehicle.” He was found on the road about a half-mile from where police say the dispute began.

Henry’s fiance Loleini Tonga was allegedly responsible for the accident. Henry was being treated at Carolinas Medical Center.
