Obama first pitch

Wearing a Chicago White Sox jeans and jacket, President Obama became the first president to throw out the first pitch on MLB All Star Game 2009 in 31 years. It was also the first time the National League (NL) lost an All-Star game with a president making the ceremonial pitch, spanning five games.

Security was tight because of President Obama’s appearance. He threw out the first pitch. “That’s how we roll in Chicago,” said White Sox starter Mark Buehrle, who pitched a scoreless inning. “Even the president is behind us.”
