In the first quarter Wes Welker injured himself as he receieved a pass from Tom Brady. He was taken out of the game. He incurred a left knee injury and when he was in pain almost all the Patriots players were shocked.

New England Patriots declared that Wes Welker will not be returning to play with them indefinitely. Being the New England Patriots receiver, the Wes Welker injury is a big hurdle for his teammates. Another teammate, Tom Brady, has also a rib injury that haunted him throughout the game. The New England Patriots and Houston Texans are tied 13-13 in the third quarter.
